英作文練習 Day 4 比率による比較

彼のファンクラブでは、女性のファンの数が男性のファンの数より２対１の割合で多い。 

 訳例1

In his fan club, the number of female fans exceeds the number of male fans at a ratio of two to one.

 訳例2

In his fan club, the female fans outnumber the males two to one. 

1.  outnumberのような意味の強い動詞を用いることにより、訳例1のようなthe number of や at a ratio of といったやや冗長な表現を回避できるが、場合によっては（入試など）訳例1の方が好まれる場合も有り得る。
